iPad 8, is the model A2270. This particular model is only compatible with the first generation
Apple Pencil and does not support the use of second generation
Apple Pencil. The
Apple Pencil is an intelligent touch-capacitive stylus developed by
Apple Inc., designed to be used with compatible
iPad models. The first and second generation pencils differ in several aspects. For instance, the first generation pencil utilizes a Lightning interface design, allowing it to be directly plugged into an
iPad for charging or connected to a power source via a Lightning-to-USB cable adapter. On the other hand, the second generation pencil features magnetic attachment and wireless charging capabilities. It can be easily attached magnetically to an
iPad for charging; however, it should be noted that unlike Qi wireless charging protocol compatibility, which allows for wireless charging on various surfaces using induction technology, the second generation pencil can only charge when magnetically attached to an
iPad.
