In general, English dates are already text, such as October 23rd, 2017. However, if the dates are in the format of days, like May 9th, 2017, you can use a formula like TEXT(J1,"yyyymmdd") to convert it into a text format like 20170509. Alternatively, you can also format it as "yyyy年m月d日" if desired. This allows for easy conversion between numerical and textual representations of dates in
excel.
